Afforestation

Afforestation means that it makes new forest on non-forested land [generally, earlier the land worked as normal agriculture land]. Afforestation can achieve the following goals:

• Reduction of weak agriculture areas;
• Increase role on protection, economical, social and public welfare of forests;
• Protection the important elements of natural environment (e.g. soil, water, air) not only in Hungary, but also all over Central-Eastern Europe. Forests through its growth get huge amount of CO2 from the atmosphere.
• Maintenance of natural heritage of rural areas, recovery of local population livelihood;
• With increase of forest land, more wood volume will be available as renewable, environment-friendly natural energy source, as well as higher ratio of the Hungarian wood demand will cover from Hungarian sources;
